Shocking video has captured the moment a US news anchor collapsed during a live TV broadcast on Saturday. Alissa Carlson Schwartz–a CBS LA weatherwoman reportedly experienced a medical incident while giving a morning weather report, which as of Subway.
In videos that have surfaced online, the 42-year-old woman’s eyes rolled to the back of her head before she fell forward and landed on the floor. Meanwhile, unaware of what is happening in the other studio, news anchors Nichelle Medina and Rachel Kim were seen introducing her to viewers. Noticing her collapse, they paused in shock for a moment before going straight to a commercial break.

The program did not return to a live segment after the hiatus, but a pre-recorded show aired, according to TMZ.
Hours later, CBS Los Angeles vice president and news director Mike Dello Stritto provided an update on her health to TMZ, saying: ”Our colleague Alissa Carlson became ill during our newscast at 10 p.m. 7 this morning. I want to thank her staff who immediately took steps to comfort Alissa and called 911. Alissa is being treated at the hospital right now. Hopefully we’ll know more soon. In the meantime, Alissa will be in our thoughts and we pray that she gets much better soon.”
Ms. Schwartz had previously experienced a similar episode in 2014 when she threw up on set during a weather report and was diagnosed with a leaking heart valve as a result, according to the outlet.
Meanwhile, many Twitter users shared their concerns about the news anchor’s health and hoped that she is doing well now. ”So horrible, so scary,” one user said, while another commented: ”I hope she’s okay and getting the best medical treatment.”
The newsreader later took to Instagarm stories, assuring her viewers that she ”will be okay.” ”Thanks for all the texts, calls and well wishes,” she said. However, she did not provide any details about what led to the medical event.
