The AC Milan management are battling with two more crucial renewals to try and secure a full house, but they are two very different situations.
Carlo Pellegatti spoke during an editorial for MilanNews about the situations surrounding Ismael Bennacer and Rafael Leao, who both signed five-year deals when they joined in 2019 and are therefore inside the final two years of their deal.
Pellegatti describes Bennacer’s renewal as ‘linear’ because Milan have made an offer, the Algerian is asking for more, but if the parties get closer the signature will arrive. He adds that ‘the next few days seem to be perhaps the decisive ones’ with a possible signature in the ‘first days of December’.
However, for Leao things are more complicated because ‘the will of the player is not yet officially known’ while it is also unknown whether father Antonio, lawyer Ted Dimvula or Jorge Mendes will represent Leao in talks.
In the meantime, the issue of the fine owed to Sporting CP remains open, and the ‘menacing shadow of the voracious PSG always hovers in the sky above Casa Milan’.
