Flanigan, Williams have quality performances despite Auburn’s tough loss

Saturday night was brutal for the Auburn Tigers as they were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament by No. 1 seed Houston, 81-64 Saturday night at Legacy Arena in Birmingham.

Auburn blew a 10-point halftime lead by allowing Houston to outscore them, 50-23 over the game’s final 20 minutes. Despite the crushing meltdown, there are several bright spots in the game.

Three players reached double figures in scoring and four players connected on 50% or higher on their free throws. As a team, Auburn got 16 points off their bench and connected on 30 points from the paint.
