Coroner to the Stars Dead at 73

Ed WinterAn LA County deputy coroner who handled the deaths/investigations of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities has died … TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Winter died in the Los Angeles area Friday of natural causes.
Talvi was there in front of the cameras in cases where e.g Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Brittany Murphy, Paul Walker, Tom Petty and Corey Haim.
Perhaps the most notable case was that of Michael Jackson death. Winter was immediately concerned when he saw the shocking number of injection sites on Jackson’s body. He was at the UCLA Medical Center where Jackson was taken, and immediately after he was pronounced dead, he noticed Dr. Conrad Murray had left the facility. Winter said, “He got away.” Murray would have signed Jackson’s death certificate, but Winter did.
Winter later said Jackson had enough propofol “to produce a rhinoceros or an elephant.”

But Winter knew there was more to the story, and he paid attention, too Dr. Arnold Klein, Jackson’s dermatologist, who fed him massive doses of Demerol almost daily. He tried to get Klein’s medical records and eventually discovered that Jackson had 19 aliases to collect drugs, and Klein was the main enabler.
Whitney Houston death just before Clive DavisThe 2012 pre-Grammy party was also a defining moment in her career. Winter had become so important on television that he himself was very recognizable. When Whitney’s body was found, her family gathered near her hotel room. Someone introduced a family member to Winter, and the woman said, “I know who Ed Winter is.” The woman was Dionne Warwick.
On Winter’s first day on the job, she was assigned to an infamous celebrity case – Lana Clarksonin the hands of a music icon Phil Spectorwho was doomed for murdering him.
Paul Walker is horrible death was another high-profile case handled by Winter. He went on TV to explain what happened in the car accident… “He died instantly,” Winter told reporters, even as the actor screamed for help.
Winter was 73. RIP
